Employing design agencies to design and build campaigns and communications is great, but it doesn’t work for everyone. Having colleagues who are able to undertake work that ordinarily would have been outsourced is another option, and sometimes a small amount of training is all that’s required to save money and exercise more control over what’s being produced.
Sometimes systems are put in place that work with the structure of a business or a team at that time, and then things change and the process stops. Perhaps you had budget to build a site, but not to maintain it, and now it’s starting to become out of date, reflecting poorly on your business.
People in business (especially small-businesses) often have to multi-task. And some of those many tasks might include things that those people aren’t neccessarily up-to-speed with. Alternatively, a system is put in place that becomes key-man dependent, and when that key-man moves on, the gaps need to be filled. If this involves design, we can help.
If your business, like most businesses, has a limited budget and that budget is best served being spent elsewhere, like on stock or staffing then you may opt to do your promotions and marketing yourself. And why not? We’re here to give you a point in the right direction when it comes to the dos and don’ts of design.
